Manchester United has reportedly identified Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak as the perfect replacement for David De Gea should he decides to leave the club.
The Spaniard, whose contract is set to expire in 15 months wants to parity with top earner Alexis Sanchez on around £400,000-a-week.
However, United privately admitted they will not bow to De Gea’s demands, fearing that it will only create more problems.
United are desperate to keep hold of the Spaniard but they know that it’s not the first time De Gea attempts to leave the club and have identified Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Oblak as a replacement for him.
The 26-year-old has kept an astonishing 115 clean sheets in 203 matches for Atletico and the La Liga giants have been desperate for him to sign a new deal over the last 18 months.
