Manchester United misfit to leave club after 13 appearances in four years

Manchester United are reportedly open to letting Phil Jones depart from the club at the end of the season.

The defender, who joined the Premier League giants from Blackburn Rovers in 2011, has only managed to make a total of 13 appearances in the recent four years.

The versatile 31-year-old has remained at Old Trafford for a significant period, making him one of the few individuals at the club who experienced the joy of winning the Premier League title during the reign of Sir Alex Ferguson.

On the other hand, the player's recent years have been full of injury troubles, causing him to fade into obscurity. 

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Jones is set to leave the club as a free agent following his contract expiry in the upcoming summer.

Unfortunately, due to knee issues player failed to make a significant contribution in recent years, as his last game for the Red Devils was back on May 2, 2022, against Brentford.
