<span data-preserver-spaces="true">Manchester United have contacted with Barcelona for midfielder Ivan Rakitic. </span>

<span data-preserver-spaces="true">The out of favour midfielder has featured for just 186 minutes this season and started the game only once. </span>

<span data-preserver-spaces="true">United were interested in Rakitic over the summer but the 31-year-old remained at Catalan club. </span>

<span data-preserver-spaces="true">Barcelona are willing to part with the Croatian international during the January transfer window and want at least £34million.</span>
