Manchester United to pay £100m for a defender

It has been reported that Jose Mourinho wants to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly. The fee is believed to be around £100m. And if United sign the defender, he will break the record, which is held by Virgil van Dijk (£75m), and become the most expensive defender in history.(via Standard) Jose Mourinho has already had two bids for the Napoli player rejected as he looks to bring in a world-class centre-back in the New Year. Kalidou is not the only defender Mourinho is interested in as he has a long-standing interest in Alderweireld, hasn't yet given up hope of landing Maguire, while Inter’s Milan Skriniar is another defender that United are monitoring closely.
