Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes responds to suggestions he is tired

Manchester United star Bruno Fernanes has hit back at suggestions that he is feeling tired after being left out of the club's starting line-up in the FA Cup win against Liverpool. He came off the bench and scored the winner with an arrowed free-kick. Fernandes has withdrawn late on at Anfield a week ago in a Premier League stalemate and his struggles to influence that game had led to some pundits suggesting the 26-year-old was in need of a rest. He has started 25 of United's 31 games so far this season. "Tired? At 26 years old I can't be tired. If I'm tired now, when I arrive at 30, 32, I will not play. I will play one game in five so, no, I'm not tired," he said after his cameo role in the FA Cup victory. "Of course the coach knows what is better for the team and today he choose to play with Donny to give some freshness to the team. I think it's fair enough because Donny is training really well, he's been important for us and will be more and more important in the future." United looked a long way from challenging at the top of the table when Fernandes signed a year ago, but he insists this is exactly why he decided to move to Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon. "My confidence is higher, of course. I come to the club because I knew I will come to a club who wants to win everything and my mentality and my way to be in my life and football is about winning," he said. "And so you have to be confident, you have to trust your team-mates, you have to trust yourself, and you have to believe. "And I will believe until it's not more possible, you know? Like when I see someone get the trophy before me then I will (have) lost my belief."
