Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani has informed the club that he will leave the club after the end of his contract. The 34-year-old has impressed during his debut campaign. He has scored ten goals in 31 games. United are desperate to keep Cavani but they need the Uruguayan to agree on a 12-month extension clause that was installed in his contract last summer. But Cavani feels unsettled at the club. Solskjaer tried to persuade Cavani to stay at the club by telling him he’d feel different once supporters returned to Old Trafford. However, according to Argentine outlet Doble Amarilla, the striker told the club after the victory against Burnley on Sunday that he intended to return to South America. Boca Juniors are leading the race for Cavani’s signature. Thus United will enter the summer transfer window for a new centre forward.
