Manchester United told to consider replacing Jose Mourinho with Arsenal former manager Arsene Wenger

Manchester United have made their worst start in 30 years under the guidance of Jose Mourinho and could hardly win their last match against Newcastle with 3-2 score. Despite the 3-2 victory, Mourinho still faces pressure at Old Trafford, with United already out of the Carabao Cup and only eighth in the top-flight. According to Paul Merson, United could do a lot worse than turn to former Gunners manager Wenger if Mourinho is sacked. He told Sky Sports: ‘Seriously, that’s not the worst idea in the world. You’ve got to look at what Wenger did. ‘You don’t have to go out and buy £70m to £80m players with some of the gems he’s got over time. ‘It’s not a bad shout. Sometimes you just need a fresh start.’ What he has to understand is the game’s evolved,’ he said. ‘It’s not about when he was at Inter Milan going in the Champions League and having to park the bus and go defensively. ‘The philosophy and teams that he’s had have been completely different to Manchester United." Wenger 68 left Arsenal  after spending over two decades at the Emirates.
