Manchester United's number 1 summer transfer priority is keeping top players Paul Pogba and David de Gea at the club, it has been revealed.
Pogba has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, while the goalkeeper is yet to sign a contract extension.
Red Devil boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke to Pogba after Zinedine Zidan started to convince the Frenchman to join the La Liga side with charming comments.
"I like Paul Pogba a lot, I know him personally. He is a player who brings a lot, few are able to do what he does. He knows how to defend, attack. He knows how to do everything on the pitch. But for everything that is rumoured, he does not play for my team, he plays for Manchester United and you have to respect that. And if it is possible one day, after his experience at Manchester United, he could come to Real Madrid. Why not?" said Zidane.
Pogba's contract expires in 2021 and United have an option of taking up a further year. The problem is that the World Cup winner wants to be the richest player at the club with a £500,000-a-week salary.
David de Gea, meanwhile, wants £350,000-a-week to remain at the club.
A club source said: “It doesn’t matter which clubs are interested in our players, this is Manchester United. There is only one message: Paul Pogba and David De Gea are not for sale. They will both still be United players next season.”
