After securing fourth-place in the Premier League at the end of the 2019/20 campaign, Chelsea will have their sights set on securing an even higher finish next time around. The Blues have identified Bayer Leverkusen starlet Kai Havertz as their top target this summer.
Whilst adding Havertz to their ranks would be a terrific signing for the Blues, it is the defensive ranks that need bolstering most. The Blues were renowned for boasting a leaky back-line during the 2019/20 Premier League season.
Should Chelsea decide to let go of Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer, it appears as though they could go for Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid, Ajax's Andre Onana or Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, with all three names having been regularly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
But if the decision fell to Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, he would certainly be pushing Chelsea to make a move for Onana.
Neuer said:
“I’m your biggest fan, of course, you played a very good season for Ajax. You and your guys deserved to be in the finals [of the Champions League] so don’t be too sad maybe you will get any chance in the future to come back to the semi-final final and have a better result than the last one.
“Take care and enjoy the celebration with Ajax for the Cup and for the championship in your league. You did a great a job and all the best in the future, my friend.”
