Martin Odegaard injury update as return date is revealed

In a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Newcastle United, Arsenal faced the absence of their influential playmaker and captain, Martin Odegaard. The Gunners' Saturday evening clash saw Odegaard ruled out due to an ongoing hip injury.

Despite a late goal against West Ham in the Carabao Cup just days before, Odegaard's fitness was a concern leading up to the Newcastle fixture. Arsenal's hopes were dashed as the Norwegian was unable to attain full fitness in time for the crucial match at St. James' Park.

Manager Mikel Arteta, addressing Odegaard's absence, emphasized his significance within the team: "He's our captain and a really important player, but it's an opportunity for another to stand up and have a great performance."

The 24-year-old's injury, while not deemed serious, has placed him on the sidelines, joining a list of notable players such as Emile Smith Rowe, Gabriel Jesus, Thomas Partey, and Jurrien Timber currently receiving treatment. However, there remains a glimmer of hope for Arsenal fans as Odegaard's hip issue is anticipated to see improvement, potentially paving the way for his return to action.

Vbet News has learned that Odegaard's expected return is set for the UEFA Champions League match against Sevilla on Wednesday, November 8.
