Matthijs de Ligt has admitted that he would like to play alongside with two Barcelona stars - Frenkie de Jong and Lionel Messi as the speculations of him linking with several top clubs continues.
The Ajax youngster has already long been linked with a move to Barcelona, PSG, Manchester United, Liverpool as well as Juventus but the player hasn't decided yet which shirt he will put on next season.
"Barcelona have great defenders and it is logical and normal that there is competition, but it is not something that frightens me," told De Ligt to Mundo Deportivo. (via

"Of course it would be nice to play with De Jong and Messi at Barcelona, but I must look at what is best for me."
Later the defender was asked about whether money will come into his thinking when he decides which club to join, to which he answered:
"Money is not the problem. The most important thing is knowing in the team where you go [that] you will have prominence and play many games," he added.
"I still don’t know what my heart says. On my holiday, I will be able to think it over and decide what I am going to do with my future. I don’t know when I’m going to have it figured out, but I’m going to take my time."
