“Mauricio Pochettino is not silly” to trade Tottenham for Manchester United, claims Harry Redknapp

Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says that Mauricio Pochettino is not silly to move to Manchester United, as he knows he would have a huge rebuilding job there. Tottenham suffered a dismal start to the season, having won only three of played 11 games, and there were rumours on Pochettino leaving Spurs for Manchester United, which also recorded one of the worst starts to the season. However, former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp doesn’t think the Argentinian will leave Tottenham but agrees that Real Madrid could tempt him. In an interview with the Mirror he said: “Listen, he's (Pochettino) the manager of a London club, a great place to live, I'm sure he's earning an absolute fortune, they have a great training ground, they have a great stadium and he has great players. Where does he go better than Tottenham? Liverpool doesn't want him, they've got Jurgen Klopp. Pep (Guardiola) is at Manchester City, they don't want him. OK, if Real Madrid comes up he may fancy going to Spain, obviously being from Argentina. The language wouldn't be a problem and living in Madrid would be very nice. But other than that, I don't see where he goes. Manchester United? Maybe but Pochettino is not silly, he knows he's got a massive rebuilding job there." Pochettino became Tottenham’s head coach in 2014, after signing a five-year contract with the club. Under his management, Tottenham recorded successful seasons lifting up in the Premier League table and reaching to the Champions League 2018/19 final.
