Mesut Ozil has sent a social media message to Gabriel Martinelli after Arsenal's 4 - 1 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup clash last night.
The Brazil professional made his first start for the Gunners in nine months due to injury and played a key role during the match. However, his impressive first half was interrupted as Mikel Arteta brought him off early in the second half after a collision with City goalkeeper Zach Steffen.
Later the club boss confirmed the 19-year-old had a "scar" on his shin that made him "uncomfortable" after half-time, while it remains to be seen whether it serious or not.
Ozil was quick to react to his teammates latest display, wishing him quick recovery after the game. He wrote on Twitter:
"Get well soon @g_martinelli01 🙏🏼🇧🇷
