Mesut Ozil speaks out after being dropped by Unai Emery for Arsenal’s defeat to West Ham

Mesut Ozil was dropped from Arsenal’s defeat to West Ham. The midfielder hasn’t played for Arsenalsince Boxing Day due to a knee injury but he was available for selection this weekend having fully trained in the days leading up to the game. During Arsenal’s defeat Ozil was having training alongside Mohamed Elneny and in a video which was posted on Elneny’s Instagram account after Arsenal’s team news was announced, Ozil said in Arabic: ‘Don’t be sad, God is with us.’ Ozil, who is Arsenal’s top earner with his £350,000-a-week contract, will now be targeting a return for the Gunners’ clash.
