Michael Beale speaks out on Rangers transfer plans ahead of January transfer window

Michael Beale has spoken out on Rangers transfer plans ahead of January transfer window.

Beale was appointed as the Gers new head coach on November 28, after the club parted ways with Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The 42-year-old has been with Rangers when they became Scottish Premiership winners in 2020/21 and knows majority of the Gers squad.

“There’s finance available. I’ll be keen to do it if I don’t the right vibe off one or two in the squad," said the new Rangers boss.

“Without mentioning names, I have to get the right vibe off certain players. I have to know they’re still the boy we recruited to come in.

“If they don’t want to be here, I don’t want them. I don’t think the club do either.

"Have I got targets already? One or two, but more positional. The cross-border market has been really important to us with Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo in the past.

“It’s been magnificent for the club this summer in terms of additional revenue. Rangers are back to where they’ve desired to be for a number of years now in that sense, but let’s draw a line in the sand.

“We’ve won a league, played in the Champions League, won a Scottish Cup and played in a Europa League Final.

“The nature of Glasgow is people think it’s broken again but I don’t believe that at all.

“In my time at Rangers under Steven we knew we didn’t have £5million or £10m to spend on a player.

“But we knew if the right player was identified then the vision we had for the way we play drove the decision.”

Rangers are currently second in the table with 9 points behind Celtic, who lead the table.

The Gers will return to action on December 10 with a friendly game against Bayer Leverkusen.
