Michael Carrick to help Jose Mourinho form Manchester United wishlist

36-year-old Michael Carrick is set to hang up boots after 12 years at Old Trafford. Before the player decides to retire, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has called on captain to help with club’s midfield targets. United want at least one midfield to cover Carrick’s spot and also another one when Marouane Fellaini decides to leave. United are currently interested in signing Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Napoli ace Jorginho. Mourinho has a great relationship with Carrick and trusts the veteran enough to give him an influential voice on the club’s summer transfer decisions. If Carrick agrees the job, he will act as a bridge between the first team and the academy.
