Chelsea are back in Champions League action. They are taking on Valencia in Spain.
Frank Lampard’s players need the three points; there is no doubt about it.
Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen is backing Chelsea to settle for a draw with Valencia on Wednesday night.
“
Valencia won the reverse fixture 1-0 at Stamford Bridge and a win for either side would see them through to the last 16. Valencia, Chelsea and Ajax are currently tied on seven points and this is a game Chelsea simply cannot afford to lose if they are to make the knock-out stages,” Owen said.
“With Lille to come at Stamford Bridge on Matchday six, a draw would not be a bad result for Frank Lampard’s side. Chelsea are unbeaten from three previous visits to the Mestalla (w2 D1) and I expect the Blues to come away with a valuable and hard-earned point.”
