Michael Owen has reacted to Antonio Conte's latest comments, claiming the manager should also take the responsibility for the current situation rather than criticise the owners and the squad players.
Spurs were in a favorable situation against the Premier League side Southampton yesterday as they were winning the clash with a score of 3 - 1. Unfortunately for Conte's team, the Saints managed to score two more goals, and the teams shared points after playing a 3 - 3 draw.
Conte showed his disappointment with the result, blaming his players for being "selfish" and not fighting for something vital.
“He has to take some responsibility as well. It’s alright saying the players are like this. Yes, he can point to an illustrious career and winning trophies as a manager as well," Owen said when speaking about the Italian manager and his latest comments on MatchDay Extra on Premier League Productions.
“I feel like he is throwing all his team under the bus and talking about Tottenham ‘never having the right attitude’. I would also be asking the question about him. I think Tottenham fans, the board and I think everyone else, is probably looking at that thinking ‘he’s not going to be here’. It seems like he’s trying to get out, saying what he is saying. I don’t know how committed he is to Tottenham. I would be surprised if he is the manager of Tottenham next season," the pundit added.
