Mike Tyson believes Conor McGregor is "wonderful and kind" and deserves a second chance after the video emerged last week that showed him punching a man in the face.
The video was filmed in the Marble Arch pub in Dublin in April and appeared to show the former UFC double champion assaulting the man, who was sitting up at the bar.
"He's a wonderful person. He's a kind man and he's gonna get good karma for that," Tyson told TMZ. "I believe that - he's earned it."
Conor has apologised for his actions in an interview with ESPN.
'The Notorious' MMA fighter said: "
That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without having it end the way it did. I tried to make amends and I made amends back then. But it doesn't matter. I was in the wrong. I must come here before you and take accountability and take responsibility."
