Mikel Arteta speaks on Eddie Nketiah’s future at Arsenal after Tuesday's hat-trick vs Sunderland

Mikel Arteta has opened up on Eddie Nketiah's future at Arsenal following the club's 5 - 1 win over Sunderland in the EFL Cup quarter-final. The 22-year-old has played a big role in the Gunners' victory on Tuesday evening, recording a hat-trick for his side. Nketiah’s current deal expires in the summer of 2022, and Arteta reveals they want the player to continue his playing spell at the Emirates Stadium. “We really want Nketiah to stay at Arsenal”, he told Sky Sports. “He needs extra minutes. That is his want and that’s what we try to do. Eddie is an essential part of the squad”.
