The Carabao Cup final was remarkable not only for Manchester City being crowned as champions but also the row between Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and boss Maurizio Sarri.
Before the penalty shoot out, Kepa appeared to be injured but when Maurizio Sarri called the Blues' reserve goalkeeper Willy Caballero to replace him, Arrizabalaga refused to come out.
Later, it was revealed that the row was just a misunderstanding.
But according to
Mirror, Maurizio Sarri had always planned to change keepers for a penalty shoot-out but had not told Kepa Arrizabalaga.
He was convinced by his coaching staff that bringing on Willy Caballero was the best option because of his impressive record in saving penalties.
But the whole mix-up came because Kepa was completely in the dark about the plan and that is why he did not want to come off despite suffering cramp just before.
And that is why, Sarri has described this incident as a "misunderstanding".
