Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Henrikh Mkhitaryan won’t manage to recover and feature in the first leg of Europa League semi-final against Atletico Madrid.
The midfielder had light training this week and according to reports, he might miss the remainder of the season.
Mkhitaryan limped out of the second leg of quarter-final against CSKA Moscow and Wenger has confirmed that Mkhitaryan will not recover in time.
The manager also referred to Mesut Ozil who missed the 4-1 win over West Ham and could be of greater concern.
“Ozil was sickness [flu] so I cannot tell you much more about that. We will have to see how he recovers tomorrow [Monday].
“But Mkhitaryan won’t be available on Thursday,” the manager added.
