Mo Salah’s return to Egypt national team QUESTIONED after captain REFUSES to give armband to Liverpool star

Egypt national team captain Ahmed Fathi has reportedly refused to give the  captain armband to Mohamed Salah, as revealed by the player's agent Nader Shawky. Liverpool star has been embroiled in a row after with his country’s football federation after the FIFA The Best award voting.  The votes from Egypt national team captain and coach have not been counted by FIFA, which left Salah frustrated, who then deleted all references with his country on social media.  “Yes, [Ahmed] Fathi was requested to give Egypt's captain armband to Mohamed Salah,” Shawky told ON Sport (quoted by KingFut, via Daily Mail). I think he will not continue with the national team if captaincy was taken off him. “My personal thought is that Salah himself will reject taking the captain armband from Fathi.” agent added. Salah’s return to the national team is now more questioned as Liverpool star will end up with international career after the row. Merseyside club will face Tottenham later this evening at Anfield Road. Kick-off time at 17:30 (BST)
