Modric will meet Perez next week when the Croatian returns from his vacation after the World Cup. The 32-year-old renewed his contract until 2020, which would mean he is 34 at the end of his deal and likely nearing retirement age. However, Perez has made it clear that Modric’s move away from Real Madrid is impossible by declaring that the Croatian star’s release clause costs £670m.
