Liverpool were about to drop points in the game against Southampton but the goals from Naby Keita, Mohamed Salah and Jordan Henderson earned the 3 points for the Reds.
Currently Liverpool are leading the league with 82 points, 2 points ahead of second placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
In the 3-1 win, Mohamed Salah not only scored a goal and was a key part of the win but also set a new record for Liverpool. His fine strike at St Mary's saw him reach his half-century in just his 69th match - a new Liverpool record.
Salah achieved the feat three games earlier than previous record holder Fernando Torres, who scored the same number of goals in 72 matches.
