Chelsea, according to information from Football London, is willing to let Mateo Kovacic depart, with Bayern Munich emerging as the front runners for his signature. The Croatia international's contract has only 12 months remaining, raising uncertainty about his future at Stamford Bridge.
Furthermore, Mason Mount, whose contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the following season, could also potentially leave on a free transfer. Given the Blues' pressing need for reinforcements in midfield, reports suggest that they have identified six players, including Fofana from Monaco, for consideration.
Fofana, who is under contract with Stade Louis-II until 2024, has made 33 appearances for Philippe Clement's side in Ligue 1 this season, contributing to their ascent to the top four.
