Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is one of the highest earner in European football, according to a report in L’Equipe.
Ozl’s salary is £350,000-a-week – a deal he agreed when Arsene Wenger was still at the club.
The 30-year-old German has played 14 Premier League matches for Arsenal this season, netting three goals; but his future under Unai Emery remains in doubt.
Ozil missed Arsenal’s 2-1 win against Hudersfield because of illness. He also failed to appear in Arsenal 2-0 win against Chelsea but Unai Emery’s opinion on this case is as follows:
"Today he was OK to play but we decided not to play him. I spoke with him," he said.
"I wanted him to be ready for the match today and for the next matches with the spirit like all the players in the team.
"Today I have the confidence with him if he played. I think he could do like we wanted. The next matches we are going to need every player and also his quality."
