Premier League will introduce a new rule, according to which, head-to-head record between two or more teams will be considered, in case those teams have equal amount of points.
Previously, if two sides were level, goal difference and number of goals scored were considered as two main criteria. If teams had the same amount considering those 3 criteria, then they should've played a play-off match to decide the winner.
Under the new rules, head-to-head record of the season will be considered before making a play-off match. If two teams have won one each during the season, then the team with most away goals will take advantage.
This rule will concern not only teams fighting for title, but teams battling for Champions League, Europa League places and also for avoiding relegation.
