Football legends who have responded to Alejandro Garnacho's bicycle kick goal vs Everton

Alejandro Garnacho forced off mouthwatering compliments from football fans and legends when he gave Manchester United an early lead following an overhead kick goal against Everton on Sunday evening.

Man United won their fifth win in their last six Premier League matches when they thrashed Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park and the comfortable win put the Red Devils back in the top six with 24 points after eight wins from thirteen Prem matches.

United's performance against Everton was by far their best they have put up since the start of this season. The victory wasn't short of noteworthy moments. Andre Onana kept a clean sheets after making five saves from inside his penalty box. Bruno Fernandes left his penalty duty for Marcus Rashford to score in a bid to help the English man build his confidence. Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot put up solid performances at the back. Kobbie Mainoo was solid, excellent on his first Prem start.

Despite all these, the moment that stood out the most was the Alejandro Garnacho's bicycle kick goal that stunned the crowd, with some home fans applauding to what many described as the GOAL OF THE SEASON.

The goal dragged loads of Manchester United fans back to the days of Sir Alex Ferguson when Wayne Rooney scored a similar goal against Manchester City in injury time. A couple of fans also linked the youngster's goal to the one Cristiano Ronaldo scored against Juventus in the Champions League. And btw, that goal will remain as one of the best goals scored in the UCL.

How did Alejandro Garnacho score the bicycle kic goal vs Everton?

The goal started when Victor Lindelof sighted unmarked Marcus Rashford down the right wing with an accurate long ball. The England international controlled the service superbly but quickly passed the ball forward when he sighted that Diogo Dalot had ran past the Everton's defence. The Portuguese fullback wasted no time to lunch in a sublime cross into the area and the spirits of Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo possessed the Argentina international. Jordan Pickford could only wish to get a thin contact on the ball but of course he couldn't.

The goal was so superb that loads of football fans, football legends and Garnacho's teammates had responded to the goal via social media and below are some of the comments.

How football world reacted to Garnacho's overhead kick goal?

Manchester United legends including Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Owen Hargreaves and Roy Keane all reacted to the goal and Keane knew the goal was so excellent that he couldn't bash in on Jordan Pickford.

Owen Hargreaves said: “One of the greatest goals we've ever seen in Premier League history. The football's good, Dalot stands it up, but the finish? You don't even do that in training, you don't even do it with your mates. It's incredible. Everything about it is majestic.”

Gary Neville: "I think that's the best overhead kick I've ever seen. I’ve never seen a goal like it, I can’t even comprehend how you do that.” “The standout player in this match has been Kobbie Mainoo but I'm going to give man of the match to Garnacho. Sometimes a moment deserves the man of the match and that goal does."

Roy Keane told Sky Sports: “Absolutely amazing. We had a great view of it, right behind it.  It's really good movement, it's a great ball from Lindelof, a good run from Dalot and when the ball goes in... It's hard to talk about it, I've never done it in my life!” "I usually criticise goalkeepers but I'll let him off with this one."

Who should respond to Alejandro Garnacho's goal?

Cristiano Ronaldo, who Garnacho has relentlessly hailed as his role model, would obviously respond to the youngter's goal. The Argentine scored what would be a goal of the season contender against Everton and capped it off with Ronaldo's iconic SIU celebration.

The five time Ballon d'Or winner hasn't responded to the Man United forward's goal yet but it's feasible that the Portuguese forward would send some words of encouragement to the youngster.

Lionel Messi could also reach out to the teenager as they are both from the same country but it would be understandable if the Inter Miami forward didn't.

What's next for Alejandro Garnacho?

Manchester United will return to action this week when they play as visitors against Galatasaray in the Champions League and the youngster will hope to maintain his momentum.
