Pep Guardiola has reacted to the latest news regarding Manchester City's charges and potential sanctions ahead of the clubs Premier League clash against Aston Villa.
The Premier League and the UEFA have charged Manchester City football club for breaching the rules on more than 100 occasions over a nine-year period, from 2009 until 2018. In case of failing to give a detailed view of the financial position, the club could be expelled from the competition, lose points, or even be suspended.
"What is going to happen, I don't know. We think we have good lawyers and I we are going to defend our positon. Time will depend what happens. We will see what a judge, the Premier League decides. In the same way with Uefa, we are innocent," Guardiola said in the pre-match press conference, via Manchester Evening News.
The manager has also opened up on the situation in the dressing room after the latest news, saying:
"The club, they talk to all of us. But we have trained like normal to get ready for Aston Villa. The last seven years have been for us, our fans and our people. The court will dictate what happens. I am fully convinced that we will be innocent."
