Portugal's potential squad for Euro 2024

Portugal national team are expected to be among the competitors in the upcoming World Cup 2026.

The World's top football tournament will be hosted in 16 cities in three North American countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. This will be the first time when the competition includes 48 teams instead of 32. 

The new format is set to be approved by FIFA which will see 48 teams competing in the 2026 World Cup. Eventually, the top two and eight best third-placed teams will secure in the last-32 knock-out stage. 

After a painful elimination from their run in Qatar 2022, Portugal will be looking to do their best when they face their opponents four years later.

Roberto Martinez has been appointed as Portugal's new manager. So the Spanish coach could probably be the one to lead the European side to the next World Cup.
