TOP 10 favorites to win Australian Open 2024

Australian Open took place in January, from January 7 to January 28.

Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev qualified for the final and Sinner celebrated a victory.

The Italian youngster beat Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals, who had never lost an Australian semi-final before, going 20-0 during his career.

Sinner was losing after two sets, however, he made a come back and won the game in 5 sets.

Daniil Medvedev reached the Australia Open 2024 final following a thrilling win over Alexander Zverev. He faced Jannik Sinner in the final on Sunday.

Jannik Sinner has reached the final of Australia Open 2024 after beating Novak Djokovic, who never lost a semifinal or final match in Melbourne, going 20–0, while winning the tournament a record 10 times. Sinner faced Medvedev in the final.

Sinner won his first ever Grand Slam.

Ben Shelton participated in the Shanghai master and reached the quarter-finals. In the Grand Slams 2023 Shelton had better luck at Australian Open and US Open. In the US Open he reached the semis, while at Aus Open he reached the quarter-finals.

Ben Shelton has also reached the Aus Open 2024 third round. Shelton crushes out of the Australian Open following defeat in third round.

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Tsitsipas reached the semi-finals during the last season and suffered a defeat to Novak Djokovic. The Serbian celebrated a 6-3 7-6 7-6 victory. 

He has crashed out of AUS Open 2024 in the fourth round.

Tommy Paul

Tommy Paul reached the Australian Open semi-finals and and suffered a defeat to Novak Djokovic, who went on to win the title. Tommy Paul also won't be continuing his Aus Open 2024 journey following a defeat in third round.

Karen Khachanov

Karen Khachanov reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open 2023. Khachanov didn't win any Grand Slams and only had luck in Roland Garros as well. He reached the quarter-finals in the tournament.

Khachanov suffers a defeat to Jannik Sinner in fourth round and is out of the tournament.

Andrey Rublev

TOP 10 favorites to win Australian Open 2024

Rublev currently participates in the Shanghai Masters and has reached the semi-finals. The 25-year-old reached the quarter-finals of Australian Open and US Open in 2023.

Rublev faced Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals of Aus Open 2024 and suffered a defeat.

Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz doesn't need any introduction. He became Wimbledon winner in 2023 after beating Djokovic in the final. Alcaraz also reached the semi-finals at Roland Garros but suffered a defeat to Djokovic. The pair met once again in the Cincinnati masters and Djokovic became a winner.

Alcaraz faced Alexander Zverev in the AUS Open Quarter-finals and suffered a defeat.

Novak Djokovic

Djokovic was surely one of the favorites to win the tournament and as mentioned above he never lost a semi-final match in Aus Open, however, he suffered a defeat to Jannik Sinner on Friday, January 26, 2024 and is out of the tournament.

Why is Rafael Nadal not playing at the Australian Open 2024?

Following a year absence due to injury that Nadal suffered at Australia Open 2023, the tennis legend is ready to make his long awaited return in 2024.

He was expected to make his return in AUS Open 2024, however, during the Brisbane International warm-up tournament he suffered a small problem.

The problem is said to be not serious and Nadal could still make his return in 2024.
