Chelsea star N'Golo Kante has suffered an injury setback and returned home from club's pre-season tour in Japan.
The 28-year-old returned to Cobham HQ for rehab on a knee injury.
Ahead of the defeat to Kawasaki Frontale (0-1) on Friday he did shape work with team-mates but did not take part fully in training.
After flying out to Asia, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard insisted he was hopeful of Kante being fit for the start of the season. But he is now sweating on one of his key players for the August 11 opener against Manchester United.
