Former Liverpool star and current Sky Sport pundit Jamie Redknapp says Christian Pulisic proved his point after the Chelsea winger scored a hat-trick in Saturday evening’s 4-2 victory at Burnley.
“He has done [played himself into the team],” Redknapp said on Sky Sports.
“It’s the enthusiasm, desire to win the ball back and this is something he’s realised, he’s almost played like ‘I need to show something today’.
“He finds himself in an unusual position for a player that’s playing wide on the left but look what he does here, he goes and chases the ball, he forces [Matt] Lowton into the mistake, then he’s one on one with [James] Tarkowski.
“He does a stepover, it’s an unconventional one because normally you take it with your left foot once you’ve stepped over with your right.
“He keeps it alive and it’s a really good finish, he’s actually really strong and keeps it alive with a good finish.
“What a night for him so far.”
On Pulisic’s second goal, the Sky Sports pundit added:
“Pulisic gets it on his favoured right foot. I like what he does. I like to see a player running with confidence on the ball.”
