Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested the delay in confirming Mike Phelan as his permanent assistant manager is due to Manchester United’s congested fixture list.
The Norwegian was appointed as Manchester United permanent manager last week.
It’s understood that the assistant boss and coach Mark Dempsey will stay on at Old Trafford beyond this season.
"We had the Watford game, now Wolves," Solskjaer said. "I think Ed and Mick will get things sorted very soon. He's a key part of the club anyway, and the set-up."
United's upcoming game is against Wolves on April 2nd.
