Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reacts to equalling Pep Guardiola’s record after winning Brighton 2-1

Following his appointment as Manchester United permanent coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer oversaw a sixth Premier League victory on Saturday courtesy of a 2-1 win over Brighton at Old Trafford, maintaining his 100% record since replacing Jose Mourinho. Asked if he was proud of the record, Solskjaer said: "I have to say, the players have to be proud of the form and the momentum they are building, because seven games now on the bounce with the wins, it creates confidence. Maybe in 10, 15, 20 years’ time I’ll look back on things like this, I don’t care whatsoever about records. I’ve never ever bothered about these things. "But of course to be part of a team that’s winning so much, that feels great and the confidence that grows in the dressing room. ‘The team spirit kept them away from losing points today even though David [de Gea] didn’t have any saves to make towards the end there were still scary moments." United are on a seven-game winning streak for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge, and Solskjaer believes that should be the norm. He continued: The gaffer used to challenge us at times with “why can’t you go win 10 games on the bounce?” because as long as you take one game at a time, and prepare well, you should go into any game as a winnable one. But of course we’ve had some tough years at the club and we are fifth at the moment, or sixth I don’t know how Arsenal are doing, but it is a challenge to get the club to where we should be."
