Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals why Edinson Cavani was taken off at half-time against Southampton

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that he took Edinson Cavani off at half-time against Southampton as a precaution after Cavani picked up a knock. Cavani got his name on a scoresheet in United's 9-0 victory over the Saints on Tuesday night. Along with Cavani, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Marcus Rashford also got their names on the scoresheet in the first half as Jan Bednarek scored an own goal, while Alexandre Jankewitz was sent-off after two-minutes into the game. In the second half, Southampton conceded another 5 goals as Anthony Martial scored a double, while Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes and Daniel James got their names on the scorehseet and Bednarek was sent-off in the 86th minute. "He was good but he got a bad tackle on his ankle so there was no point taking any risks," Solskjaer told BT Sport. "So hopefully it won’t swell up too much." source - Metro / Join us on Telegram
