Manchester United caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has challenged his squad to catch Tottenham in the Premier League after their 1-0 victory against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The Red Devils won their sixth game on the bounce under the Norwegian, taking them to within seven points off Spurs in third place.
However, Solskjaer suggested United can do even better as he wants his quad to chase down Tottenham.
“We had to beat them today if we were to have a chance to catch them,” said Solskjaer. “We were ten points behind now we’re seven. Seven points is catchable, 13 is impossible, 10 difficult. Now we have the chance.”
“The win here was massive. The team spirit was massive,” said Solskjaer. “The belief and joy in the dressing room is fantastic. We’ve been away for a week working on certain things and when the boys see the benefits of that work – both fitness and tactical – it’s massive. “Results like this against big teams give you confidence.”
