Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes can form an incredible partnership at Old Trafford.
Martial faced difficulties under Jose Mourinho, but the appointment of Solskjaer changed the Frenchman's role in the squad. The 24-year-old has become one of the key players of the team, scoring 16 goals in 34 games this term.
Meanwhile, the arrival of Fernandes during the January transfer window led to a link-up of the two players so that Martial managed to score three goals during the Portuguese midfielder's five Premier League games.
And now, Solskjaer has revealed he plans to encourage the partnership of the United duo.
Red Devils manager told Premier League Productions:
“Well Anthony’s had a difficult season with injures but he started the season the season really well and he’s finishing off…well the season’s not finished yet but he did really well towards the end.
He’s working hard and for me Anthony was on the way to his best season at Manchester United so lets see if he finishes it off and kicks on again.”
Tony and Bruno [Fernandes] have hit it off together so it’s a partnership that we hope can flourish.
We knew he was a quality player and knew that when he came in he would have an impact straight away but you never know if he’s going to settle early in a new country but he’s taken to it like a duck to water.”
