Arsenal want to sign a new left-back in the summer transfer window. But they didn't come close to signing one in January window, according to The Athletic. The Gunners want a young player with high quality and potential who could play backup to Kieran Tierney. There were links to older and more experienced left-back in the January transfer window, including Ryan Bertrand and Patrick van Aanholt. Arsenal wasn’t in a position to make the left-back signing they wanted in January, given the financial problems. Ornstein has also provided an injury update on Tierney. According to The Athletic, the Gunners may soon be boosted by the return of the player. Tierney has missed Arsenal’s last 5 games due to problem with his right leg.
