Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres has played down the possibility of a transfer away from the club this summer amid Manchester United links.
The 24-year-old has attracted the attention of numerous clubs across Europe with his impressive performances for the La Liga side, with whom he won the Europa League this season.
But any transfer would be delayed until after Torres' exploits at the European Championships with Spain this summer - where United will continue to scout their targets.
It has been expected that Torres will depart Villarreal in the summer market, however, the Spaniard has played down the prospect of a move.
“Right now I have a contract with Villarreal. We’ve won a European trophy. We’ve shown we can compete against any opponent," he said.
"Next year we have the Champions League ahead of us, and that’s what I’m focused on. Those rumours mean that you’re doing a good job. I’m calm.
"Those rumours came out a while ago and I don’t think my performance has changed, it’s been good.”
