Paul Pogba's transfer to Real Madrid is under threat

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba's possible move to Real Madrid in January has been threatened by the presence of Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde. The 21-year-old has been sparkling for Los Blancos this season, which led the Real boss to change his mind about Pogba’s transfer. Zidane intended to sign Pogba during the summer transfer window, but United set a high price for the player, which led the French boss to concentrate on Valverde. The Uruguayan’s success may mean Pogba’s failed transfer to Real, though the United Valverde has shown his flexibility succeeding in both roles of a defensive midfielder or box-to-box player. The Uruguayan told the media: "I feel comfortable anywhere in midfield. Zidane is playing me as a No.5 or a No.8, I feel comfortable, I'm confident when it comes to playing, hungry to arrive in the [opposition] box. He's asking me to give my best, which I am in training and it helps a lot when a coach gives you this trust."
