Paul Robinson amazed by one Aston Villa player's "transformation" under Steven Gerrard

Paul Robinson has shared his praise for Aston Villa's Tyrone Mings and his "amazing" performance during the Brighton match. Playing their first Premier League game under Steven Gerrard, Villa celebrated a 2 - 0 victory over the rivals. Mings scored the second winning goal for his side in the 89th minute of the match. Robinson was impressed by the 28-year-old's performance and even claimed that Gerrard has already transformed the player. “I think Mings is a player who will respect Steven,” the pundit told Football Insider. “Steven is the type of manager who will demand clean sheets every week. The basis of any successful team is clean sheets. Steven did that at Rangers. “Mings will be given responsibility and a key leadership role under Gerrard and I think he will flourish under that. “The first thing Steven will do is work on the teams defensive shape. You could see that on the weekend. They were hellbent on not conceding and they never really looked like conceding. “Mings was amazing. A transformed player from the one we saw in the opening stages of the season. “He was a bit like Harry Maguire a few weeks ago, he looked out of sorts. But he has turned the corner. I think he’s back to his best.” Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
