Former NBA player and current Memphis Tigers head coach Penny Hardaway has convinced the Golden State Warriors to keep the youth pick and gladly vouched for his former player in top prospect James Wiseman.
The Warriors have recently been mulling over trading away their valuable second overall pick for a seasoned star or keeping the asset and start a youth movement within the team.
“He can easily keep up with the game and the pace,” Hardaway told
NBC Sports Bay Area this week about how James Wiseman could fit with the Warriors.
“He’s very athletic, very fast. He’d instantly be one of the better rim runners in the league. He’s also a rim protector; he is going to protect the rim. His skill set is good enough now, and it’s going to get better, especially because he’d be playing with veterans like Draymond, Klay and Steph.”
