Pep Guardiola defends Bernardo Silva over a tweet to Benjamin Mendy

Earlier this week, Bernardo Silva shared a picture on his Twitter account of Benjamen Mendy as a child next to an image of the black cartoon mascot for Spanish chocolate peanut brand Conguitos with a caption “Guess who?”. The tweet was branded as an act of racism by fans and FA, although Silva claimed that it was a joke and Benjamin Mendy also took it well. After yesterday's 3-0 over Preston in the Carabao Cup, Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola  spoke out on the situation as he defended Bernardo Silva. "There are many situations with white people where a cartoon will look similar," Guardiola said. "The response from Mendy was clear. They are joking all the time."
