Kevin De Bruyne was substituted in the 67th minute of Manchester City's game against Wolverhampton Wanderers which ended with Wolves' 3-2 win.
After the game, Pep Guardiola explained why he decided to substitute De Bruyne as Ilkay Gundogan replaced the Belgian.
"We have less than 48 hours for our next game," said Guardiola.
Manchester City's upcoming game will be against Sheffield United Sunday December 29.
