Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola alludes that it is a good sign when his players get "angry" over being left out in the starting line up. The former football player believes benching a players makes them more effective in the subsequent games.
Last Saturday, Jeremy Doku scored and gave four assists, giving Manchester City a 6-1 win against Bournemouth.
Before the thrilling performance, the winger was benched during last week triumph at Old Trafford. Jack Grealish was the man on duty but the roles were interchanged Bournemouth visited.
To Guardiola, the move to interchangeably bench the two players is to retain their consistency.
"I want Jack [Grealish] angry and I want him to play good. And then Jeremy Doku be angry that he hasn't played the last two games. This is the only way to maintain the consistency at that level." Pep Guardiola said.
Jeremy Doku, a 21 year old Belgium International, moved to City after a a £55.4m summer signing from Rennes. With Saturday win, the winger who seems to have settled quick has seen City rise to the top of the league, having scored three goals across all competition.
