Pep Guardiola provides an update on Aymeric Laporte ahead of Champions League clash with Real Madrid

Manchester City celebrated a 1-0 win over Leicester City at King Power Stadium on Saturday. After the game, City head coach Pep Guardiola spoke out on Aymeric Laporte, who played 58th minutes as he was replaced by Nicolas Otamendi. “He asked me to be subbed,” Guardiola said. “He’s not injured. We cannot forget he has been out for four or five months injured. They run a lot, (Jamie) Vardy, Kelechi (Iheanacho), (Harvey) Barnes, they are all so fast. “It was quite different against West Ham (on Wednesday) where they was only one striker so it was easier to control, but he’s OK.” Guardiola's side will be preparing to face Real Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 first leg game on Wednesday. And when Guardiola was asked if Laporte was ready to play the full match at the Bernabeu, the Man City coach simply replied: “Yes”. source - FourFourTwo
