Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has claimed Sergio Aguero is likely to start at FA Cup third-round tie to Birmingham on Sunday.
The striker has suffered an injury-hit season, playing just nine times in all competitions. But he came off the bench towards the end of the win at Chelsea last weekend, and Guardiola says he will start Sunday's FA Cup tie, barring any setbacks in the next few days.
"Yes, if he is good in these next days, he will start," Guardiola confirmed after Carabao Cup semi-final win over Manchester United.
In the meantime, the Cityzens boss says he is less sure of whether or not Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker are ready to start after their isolation period following positive COVID-19 tests.
"It’s a mystery - no-one knows what happens when you get back from COVID," Guardiola added.
"Some recover well, some recover bad. We will see training sessions and see how they react. When I speak to them, they said they feel tired - ten days without training.
"But tomorrow training, next day training and we will analyse how they feel."
