Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has opened up on the club's injuries, claiming their main reason is behind playing "a lot of games" during the campaign.
City are currently without some of their key players, Bernardo Silva, Jack Grealish, John Stones and Mateo Kovacic. The club stars have picked up fitness problems while being in action for the defending Premier League and Champions League champions.
The latest injury news are regarding Barnardo Silva, who is expected to be out of action for at least one week/ten days following the Champions League display against Red Star Belgrade.
Ahead of the Premier League game versus Nottingham Forest, Guardiola was asked about the club absentees, and the Citizens' man admitted they would have had less injuries if not having to play so many games.
"We play a lot of games. Less games, less injuries. A lot of games in a row over the years with no rest... We can not sustain it," Guardiola said in the pre-match press conference, via Manchester Evening News.
"Jack got a knock on his knee in Sheffield that's football it can happen. But muscular injuries mean you miss a lot of games," he added.
Despite the injury list, City are successfully continuing their impressive spell in the Premier League, leading the table with five wins.
